Proof that God has a sense of humor- during my placement testing Tuesday at Goodwin College- one of the tests was Elementary Algebra. I just looked up and said under my breath, Lord, are You KIDDING? It has been 33 years since I had to solve an algebra problem and even then I wasn't the world's greatest! I felt a small chuckle in my heart and a gentle "Child you worry too much". To be honest, I prayed before each answer because most of them I looked at and thought, "HUH?" I know the Lord was having a good Belly Laugh at this point. But I passed. By the seat of my pants granted, but by golly I passed! I think He was having a really good Laugh when the admissions advisor showed me the test scores... college level Thank You Jesus!
Hi all! It took me 13 years to find this organization. I did not know it existed. I have been on disability since 2001 or 2002. I was turned down the first time, and I think everyone is. If they read my file, there would have been no question. I hired an attorney and within a couple of months the judge read my file and overturned the first ruling. I did receive back pay to the day that I left work. I did not get hurt at work. My family has back problems. I have had 8 back surgeries and fused from L2 thru S1. I have Adult Onset Diabetes, Malignant Hypertension, Asthma, COPD and Depression. I am mostly chair to bed confined. On good days I like to see my 3 grandchildren, piddle around the house, play Candy Crush, work puzzles or crochet. I have terrible Degenerative Disc Disease and it is particularly bad in my neck, where C4 thru C7 are collapsing onto each other. Sometimes I have numbness all the way down my arms, pain in the brachial plexus on both sides. It is very depressing. I have had problems since I was 34 and will be 60 in April! I am glad I found y'all and look forward to meeting.
Hi, I would like to intro. myself. I am a disabled worker, I have been disabled since 2006, now I watch my grandson some, take care of my chi's pepper and sugar, my cats mitzy and calley. I actively work for workers rights and issues, and disabled and social security issues. I am really glad to be here and look forward to getting to know folks here.
Evert time I give in and except what my new limitations are something else gets thrown in my path. I am scared to answer the phone because every time its one of the several Doctor's I have to tell me that something else is wrong!! They have found a new fracture in the T3 vertebrae and the pain is crippling. The did a nerve conduction study and found that on top of everything there is a pinched nerve in my lower back. I'm not even going into the blood work results. I guess this explains why I can't stand, sit, or sleep for more then 2 hours. I've decided to divorce my body!! Thanks for listening.
Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather! This is my favorite time of year, I love all the growth and greenery. I am also enjoying my summer vacation that had just begun, if you need to reach out for anything, message me, I look forward to hearing how your summer is going - Gina
